The University of Padova, in collaboration with INAF Astronomical Observatory of Padova, the National University of Ireland Galway, the Universities of Lisboa and Coimbra, the University College London, and the IDPASC network of PhD schools, organizes a Winter School on Very High Time and Space Resolution Astrophysics at the Astronomical Observatory of Asiago (Italy), from February 27 to March 7, 2013.
The School is open to PhD and graduate students in Astronomy, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering. A limited number of applications from young Post-PhD researchers and undergraduate students might be considered.
The main objective of the School is to present scientific and technological aspects of Very High Time and Space Resolution Astrophysics (HTSRA) made possible by large telescopes and single photon counting photometers.
The School will consist of lectures complemented by observations using three telescopes at the Asiago Observatory. In particular, the 182 cm "Copernicus" telescope at Cima Ekar will be equipped with the high resolution single photon counting photometer Aqueye. The speakers are all leading scientists in the field of HTSRA and will be assisted by younger tutors.
